Rays capitalize on Yankees errors
New York committed four errors in the 5-2 loss at Tropicana Field. With the score tied in the fifth inning, Tampa Bay repeatedly put the ball in play, forced defensive decisions and scored four runs to take control.
Richie Palacios produced a key two-run single during the rally. Ben Rice hit two solo home runs for New York, accounting for both Yankees runs, but the defensive breakdown left the club in a 2-0 series deficit.
