Target says it has lowered prices on nearly 2,000 home and apparel items as fall and holiday shopping picks up. The retailer announced the reductions September 29 and gave examples across clothing, shoes and bedding. The announcement is Target’s description of its own pricing, so shoppers should confirm the current price for their store or online order.

Examples of the reductions

Target listed women’s long-sleeve tees at $12, down from $15, and a Threshold queen comforter at $69, down from $89. It said a Room Essentials queen comforter moved from $50 to $40 and Threshold performance queen sheets from $55 to $50. The company also said the average price of women’s shoes is $35, compared with $40 last year, and selected kids’ rain and winter boots average about 15% below last year.

Those examples do not mean every item in those categories is discounted. Target says prices, promotions and availability can vary by location and on its website. The announced program excludes Alaska and Hawaii, and some named products may not be available in every store or online.

How the October sale fits in

The price changes are separate from Target Circle Deal Days, scheduled for October 6–7. Target says eligible members can find offers across apparel, home, toys and technology then, while some paid Circle 360 members get early access to selected deals on October 5. A claimed percentage off does not always beat another retailer’s total price, so compare the final cost, shipping and return terms before buying.
