September 29, 2026 — Netflix has released LEGO ONE PIECE, a two-part animated special that retells events from the first two seasons of its live-action ONE PIECE series. In a September 29 Tudum announcement, Netflix says both episodes are now streaming.

What is the new special?

The story uses Usopp as its narrator. He recounts the Straw Hat crew’s journey across the East Blue and into the Grand Line for Chopper, who joined the group later. That framing lets the production revisit familiar events from a different character’s point of view. Netflix describes the release as a retelling, so viewers should not mistake it for a new season of the live-action show.

The live-action cast return to voice their characters in the animated version. Netflix lists Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Zoro, Jacob Romero as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji and Mikaela Hoover as Chopper. Netflix identifies Tom Hyndman as showrunner, writer and executive producer, and Chelsea Ker as director of both episodes.

How it fits into the wider series

Netflix announced the special in April as part of a broader expansion of the ONE PIECE screen franchise. Its September release is the current development; the company’s separate plans for a third live-action season and another anime project are different productions, with their own schedules.

The special is a compact way for new viewers to meet the characters and for existing fans to revisit earlier storylines. Its arrival adds an actual dated release to AskNovus’s Television coverage. Netflix’s listing is the place to check viewing availability in a particular region.
